Inspiration for Spartina 449 products begins at our seaside cottage on
Daufuskie Island, South Carolina. Rich in natural beauty and steeped
in history, it is here our lives slow down. The windows of our home studio
are framed by the towering branches of ancient live oaks and look out
upon the calm waters of the Calibogue Sound. Playful dolphins, majestic
shrimp boats, and soaring sailboats pass by daily on their mysterious
maritime journeys. Spartina, the inspiration for our name, is the native
marsh grass that graces our shores and protects our pristine beaches.

We are proud to contribute a portion of our proceeds to the Daufuskie
Island Historical Foundation, a non-profit organization created to preserve
and protect the island’s invaluable historical and cultural heritage.
